Vicky Kaushal To Lead YRF’s New Spy Film?
Vicky Kaushal is reportedly the next big name to join the YRF Spy Universe. Recently, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari have joined and also kick-started the shoot of Alpha. Mid-day has reported that the Sam Bahadur actor is currently in talks with Yash Raj Films to headline their upcoming espionage thriller. However, nothing has been made official till now.
The portal quoted sources saying that Vicky Kaushal is in talks to headline Yash Raj Films’ next spy thriller. A source said, “Conversations have been happening for a while, and Vicky is keen to be part of this ambitious franchise. It’s still in the early stages, but the idea is to introduce a fresh narrative thread within the existing world. The makers believe he has the charisma and acting chops to lead a standalone story”.
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal was last seen in Chhaava and he played Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son in the film. Talking to Pinkvilla before the film’s release in February 2025, Laxman praised Vicky. He said, “There were 1500 people on our sets. Even when there was some chaos, as Raaze (Vicky) got out of his vanity, it felt like a lion was coming. When we saw him in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s outfit, holding that sword, everyone stood to attention. No one had the courage to say anything to him since he was Raaze to us and still is. When he got out of his vanity, the entire team would go quiet. That is his aura.”
Apart from this, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated film Love & War also co starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Recently, it was reported that the film shoot got delayed due to heavy rains in Mumbai. The film’s set suffered significant damage from the monsoon downpours. For the film, both actors have lost weight.
Mid-day has quoted a source saying, “It was a key dramatic sequence that was set outdoors and required specific lighting. But with waterlogging and unpredictable weather, it became impossible to go ahead. Bhansali sir didn’t want to compromise on the scene’s visual quality or the safety of his crew. It’s a unit of 500-plus and some people stay in far-off areas. It was impossible for them to reach the set because of train disruptions.”
