The Los Angeles Rams will continue to have Matthew Stafford as their quarterback.
However, that could have changed this offseason.
While the expectation was that the Rams and Stafford would eventually sort things out, they allowed him to speak to other teams about a potential trade as he tested his market value.
The New York Giants reportedly wanted him before he ultimately signed a restructured contract with Los Angeles.
But during the process, the Rams had to think of alternatives.
With that in mind, head coach Sean McVay recently admitted that the Rams contemplated making a run at Aaron Rodgers.
“That was definitely coversations and a possibility for us,” McVay said on “Good Morning Football.”

McVay added that he was a big fan of Rodgers and thought they could succeed with him.
Rodgers waited for months before recently signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, which seemed to be the only choice he had left.
He was linked to the Minnesota Vikings, but they reportedly opted not to pursue him to keep building around J.J. McCarthy.
The Rams will be a team to keep an eye on for as long as McVay is calling the shots and Stafford is there and fully healthy.
As for Rodgers, he will have a big chip on his shoulder to prove that he’s still a top NFL QB.
