In Grow a Garden, the Moonlit Mutation was added with the Lunar Glow update on May 10, 2025. This Mutation is a permanent addition to the game’s selection of Mutations and is not restricted to any event. It can be triggered during the Night, applying a multiplier to the affected Fruits’ sell values and making them more lucrative.

Here’s a quick guide to the Moonlit Mutation and how you can increase the odds of your harvest being impacted by it.

The Moonlit Mutation is among the more common ones in the game, being a Mutation tied to the game’s day-night cycle. It has a chance to affect all Fruits on a server, applying a 2x multiplier to their selling value. Moonlit can be stacked with every other Mutation without it replacing or being replaced by any of the others.

By default, this Mutation only affects six Fruits per farm each time Night falls on the server. The effect is applied to one harvest every 40 seconds over four minutes.

During the Lunar Glow Event, players could use a Night Staff to increase the number of Fruits impacted by the Moonlit Mutation. However, since the event has expired, the Night Staff is no longer available and you can only acquire six Moonlit plants at most per Night.

The Night Weather Event is among the game’s regular Weather Event types that trigger at set intervals or randomly on a server. Since its activation is not dependent on event duration or administrator actions, the Night is a fairly common sight, provided you wait long enough.

Accompanying the Night is a changed skybox, a unique purple hue over Fruits, and a change in the ambient soundtrack. The soundtrack plays the classical piano piece Clair de Lune, which, fittingly, is French for Moonlight.

You will see it trigger once every four hours from a server’s creation. Once active, the Night lasts for 10 minutes, during which it will apply the Moonlit Mutation. Note that the Blood Moon Weather Event has a chance to replace the standard Night, applying Bloodlit Mutation and raising the Fruit selling price even further. Blood Moon only has a one-in-three, or 33.33%, chance to trigger when the Night is active and lasts 15 minutes at a time.
