Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna’s Kuberaa Pre-Release Event Postponed
Following the tragic incident of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, the makers of Kuberaa, starring Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna, have announced the postponement of their much-anticipated pre-release event. Originally scheduled for today, the event has been called off as a mark of respect to those affected by the incident. The devastating Air India crash near Ahmedabad airport that claimed several lives on Thursday morning. The tragedy struck just minutes after Flight #AI171, bound for London, took off with 242 people onboard.
The makers took to their X handle and issued a notice reading, “The pre-release event of Kuberaa, scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed in light of the tragic Ahmedabad flight crash. We stand in solidarity with the grieving families.” Ahead of its grand theatrical launch, the makers of Kuberaa have announced that the film’s full trailer will be released on June 13, 2025. The film is releasing on June 20. The announcement comes amidst mounting excitement for this pan-India social thriller.

Recently, makers dropped a post reading, “9 days for the intense drama to erupt in theatres near you. But the spark sets off with the Trailer on June 13th! #Kuberaa in cinemas June 20, 2025.” The announcement left fans super excited. Already teaser has been released.

The makers unveiled the film’s first song, Poyiraa Mama, last month, which received good responses from the audience. Dhanush has lent his voice to the Tamil and Telugu versions of the track, while it is sung by Nakash Aziz in Hindi. Devi Sri Prasad composed the soundtrack for Kuberaa, while Niketh Bommireddy and Karthika Srinivas handled the cinematography and editing, respectively.
Kuberaa explores the themes of power and wealth. It centers around Dhanush’s character, a homeless man from Mumbai’s Dharavi slums who rises to become a strong mafia leader, while Nagarjuna will be playing a complex character in the forthcoming film. Rashmika, on the other hand, plays a woman quietly craving more than what her middle-class life offers and Jim Sarbh brings charm and sharp edges as a high-flying businessman.
Besides Kubera, Dhanush will also be seen in director Aanand L Rai’s much-awaited Tere Ishk Mein with Kriti Sanon and in the upcoming biopic, Kalam: The Missile Man of India, wherein he will be stepping into the shoes of the former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam.
