Veteran actor Anupam Kher is winning hearts once again, not through a powerful onscreen performance, but with something far more personal and heartfelt—a barefoot walk along the rainy shores of Mumbai. His latest Instagram post is a poetic slice of life, capturing the simple joys of monsoon, music, and mindfulness.
In the video, Kher is seen strolling barefoot by the sea, holding his cap, with the Mumbai monsoon in full swing. With grey skies above and waves rolling in beside him, the visuals evoke a quiet serenity. What makes it even more magical is the background score—the timeless Kishore Kumar classic, Main Hoon Jhum Jhum Jhumroo, playing gently, adding a nostalgic charm to the scene.
Kher, known for his eloquence both on and off-screen, penned a moving caption in Hindi, highlighting the importance of being unfiltered and fearless in life. “Zindagi mein ek bebaakpan hona bahut zaroori hota hai. It sets you free,” he wrote. Reflecting on his own way of dealing with life’s occasional heaviness, he added, “Jab kabhi ek ghutan si mehsoos karta hoon to nikal padta hoon khuli hawa mein (Whenever I feel suffocated, I head out into the open air)!”
He went on to describe how Mumbai’s streets and beaches often showcase this carefree spirit in the most unexpected ways. “Yeh baanwara aur bindaas mizaaj aapko Mumbai ki sadkon aur samundar ke kinare aam insano ke beech bahut dekhne ko milta hai,” Kher noted.
But what makes the post even more special is the spontaneity of the moment. The video wasn’t filmed by a professional crew or carefully planned. It was, in fact, captured by a stranger at the beach. Kher ended his caption with a warm shout-out: “Beach par jis anjaan vyakti ne yeh video shoot kiya, use bahut pyaar. Jai ho. (Lots of love to the stranger who filmed this. Jai Ho).”
With over a million views already, the video is striking a chord with fans who are applauding the actor’s grounded spirit and love for life’s simple pleasures. It’s a gentle reminder that sometimes, a walk in the rain—with a Kishore Kumar tune in the background—is all it takes to feel free.
