NORTHBROOK, Ill., May 13, 2025 – Allstate Chief Claims Officer Mike Fiato testified before the U.S. Senate today on how Allstate helps customers recover from unexpected losses. He highlighted the company’s proactive claims response and commitment to helping customers rebuild from increasingly destructive severe weather events.

“Allstate’s team of 23,000 claims professionals serve 8.4 million customer claims each year. In 2024, the company provided over $37 billion to customers, including $4.6 billion tied to 132 catastrophes,” said Fiato. “Allstate mobilizes thousands of people after disasters to serve customers by organizing shelter, providing clothing and distributing money to help them begin rebuilding their lives. Allstate customers impacted by January’s California wildfires have received $945 million.”

One in 10 American households depend on Allstate to protect one of their most valuable assets with affordable, simple and connected insurance. Over the last five years, Allstate has paid over $20 billion to help customers rebuild following severe weather events.

“American insurers put customers first every day, providing guidance and timely payments when they’re needed most,” said Neil Alldredge, President and CEO of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. “The swift response to the recent California wildfires and Hurricanes Helene and Milton show how committed carriers are to helping people recover and rebuild as quickly as possible.”
