Abhishek Banerjee pointed out that the idea of censorship has been a part of everyone’s life from a very young age.

Abhishek Banerjee is currently seen in Rana Naidu season 2.
Abhishek Banerjee recently spoke about the ongoing discussion on censorship in movies and OTT shows. He pointed out that the idea of censorship has been a part of our lives from a very young age. He explained that we have moved from simple scenes like showing flowers to openly showing kisses on screen. Still, the actor feels there are many limits. Banerjee also mentioned that even in daily life, from childhood, people are taught which words are okay to use and which ones are not.
In an interview with Zoom, Banerjee said, “I’m saying that we’ve gone from just showing flowers to now showing on screen kisses. And apart from words like abuse, fool, tomato, potato, we grow up. This censorship starts right from school, when we’re told what we can’t say. From the moment we start understanding things, we’re told what to say and what not to say.”
Abhishek added that even though films and web series now show more bold topics and scenes, there are still limits on what can be shown. He feels that the industry has come a long way, but there’s still more progress needed. He’s hopeful that things will keep moving forward. When asked if he supports censorship, he clearly said no. According to him, “We have to find ways so that we cross that.”
After appearing in Stolen, Abhishek Banerjee is now seen in Rana Naidu season 2. As per Netflix, “This season, the stakes are higher. The danger is personal. The past demands payment. Rauf – a worthy adversary to Rana, will stop at nothing to settle scores. Rana is on the brink, desperate to pull off one final, high-stakes fix that could secure his family’s future. Can Rana tame the storm called Rauf? Or is this the one fix that will break him for good? The clock is ticking. The walls are closing in. And for the Naidus, it’s war—with Rauf at their heels.”
Real life uncle and nephew, Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati, are back as father and son. Joining them in the cast are Surveen Chawla, Kriti Kharbanda, Sushant Singh and Dino Morea. Rana Naidu Season 2 premieres today, on June 13, on Netflix.
