Web series, The Royals, starring Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar, has been making waves since its release. With its gripping plot and star-studded cast, the show has quickly gained popularity. To celebrate its success, the team recently reunited for a celebratory bash in Mumbai.
Bhumi Pednekar shared a glimpse of the festivities on her Instagram Stories, capturing a joyful moment with co-star Sakshi Tanwar, who played a pivotal role in the series, and producers Tanya Bami and Shikha Arif Sharma. Flashing big smiles, the “girl gang” radiated camaraderie, with Bhumi captioning the photo: “Royals hai hum.”
The Royals transports viewers to the regal yet crumbling city of Morpur, where an unlikely romance blossoms between a charismatic prince and a driven CEO. Ishaan Khatter takes on the role of Aviraaj Singh, a modern-day royal and skilled polo player, while Bhumi Pednekar portrays Sophia, a fierce, self-made businesswoman.
Bhumi’s portrayal of Sophia marks a significant departure from her previous roles. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actress opened up about the experience, saying, “It was nothing like what I had done in the past. It was one of the first times that I got to experiment with my wardrobe. There were people who actually cared about the way I was looking on screen. That has never happened.”
The statement highlights both her character transformation and the visual attention to detail that the show brings, making it a standout in her career.
Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and written by Neha Veena Sharma, the series promises a new-age romance with a stellar ensemble cast. Joining Bhumi Pednekar are veteran actress Zeenat Aman, Ishaan Khatter, Chunky Panday, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Sakshi Tanwar, Milind Soman, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, Sumukhi Suresh and Luke Kenny.
Next, she will be reportedly seen in a series titled Daldal. The show, which will be available on Prime Video, will portray her as a cop. The series’ filming has already been completed, but no release date has been given. She also has Karan Johar’s epic historical drama Takht in the works.
