The alleged video of Shilpa Shetty and her family has created a social media frenzy.
Shilpa Shetty is currently in Croatia for a birthday trip with her husband Raj Kundra, sister Shamita Shetty and other close family members and friends. Recently, a young Instagram user took to the social media site to share a video claiming that Shilpa and her family were arguing with a ‘young foreigner’ who complained that their group was being too loud.
Sharing a video of a group of people dressed in white, the young Instagrammer alleged, “This incident occurred today (9.06.2025) in Hvar Island, Croatia. A foreigner was eating her food, and they (Shilpa Shetty and team) were speaking loudly. The foreigner girl asked them to lower their volume; however, Raj Kundra (Shilpa Shetty’s Husband) replied by saying, ‘You don’t know who we are.’ I could not record that line on the video because it was very sudden.”
He claimed, “You can clearly hear Shilpa Shetty and her family standing and Shilpa Shetty and team saying, ‘Don’t talk to us, we don’t want to hear you.’ While the foreigner girl just wanted to enjoy her food, and politely requested to them to speak softly. Please give your comments on this incident. Whether this arrogance from our celebrities on foreign soil is justified or not? Whether these incidents defame Indians and our reputation abroad or not?”
When certain social media users questioned the authenticity of the video, the young Instagrammer shared a close-up photo of Shilpa Shetty in white. However, the authenticity of the video and the photograph is yet to be confirmed. The actress and her family are not clearly visible in the video. The actress and her family are yet to respond to these claims.
However, it has caused a frenzy on social media, inciting mixed views. One person wrote, “It doesn’t matter whether you are on foreign soil or Indian… you have to maintain some decorum.” Another added, “Yet another example of money doesn’t buy class.” Another person wrote, “Being a star doesn’t give you the right to talk loudly in public. This is bad etiquette.” One person commented, “Civic sense inke paas bhi nahi hai.”
Some comments also pointed out that foreigners are likely to have a racial bias against Indians. One person noted, “Well, personally witnessed many American tourists & Chinese talking loudly too in our Europe visits. But somehow, Whites will call out loud Brown voices only.” Another noted, “I have seen many locals here in Australia of all ages do the same, but if an Indian does it, they notice this first.” Another added, “This video does not prove anything.”
It is important to note again that the reason behind the alleged argument is unconfirmed. Shilpa Shetty and her family have yet to respond to this video.
