Blunt further heightened the anticipation by stating she is hopeful for possible character development. “Let’s hope we remedy [the conflict between Emily and Miranda]. I’m not sure. Can you tell I’m skirting the issue? Can you tell I can’t tell you anything?” the actress noted.
According to Wrap reports, the sequel will focus on Miranda Priestly as she struggles due to the decline of magazine publishing and runways facing challenges to stay relevant. During such times, she is expected to turn to Emily, who is now a well-known executive at a luxury fashion brand. Although the casting has not been finalised yet, it is expected that key original members will reprise their roles in the sequel.
Director David Frankel, who directed the original movie, will likely return along with Stanley Tucci, who played the beloved character Nigel in the movie. As per Variety reports, Tucci talked about the film during an interview and noted, “I know they’re working on it. If it happens, I would be so happy, but I cannot give you any information.”

The plot centres around Andy’s struggle to fit into the cutthroat fashion industry. After putting in extreme efforts, she finally becomes successful in her job, only to realise she does not want the glitz and glamour of the fashion industry. At this point,t Miranda’s famous dialogue—Don’t be ridiculous, Andrea; everybody wants this. Everybody wants to be us—echoes in Andy’s ears, but she decides to leave everything behind and follow her true passion—journalism.
